DESC is a part of the Michigan Works! Association, and is one of 16 Michigan
Works! Agencies located around the state. Detroit Employment Solutions Cor-
poration reports to the Mayor’s Work-Development Board, which is established
by the Mayor of Detroit, and is also the lead agency for ‘Detroit at Work’, which provides job placement, search, training, career advisement and other suppor-
tive services to tens of thousands of Detroiters every ear.

DESC works with experienced partners across the city to develop training pro-
grams that allow you to custom develop the skills you need your new hires to
have. These training programs can run from a dozen trainees to many hundreds.

The Grow Detroit’s Young Talent program has kicked off its ninth year, creating
summer job experiences for thousands of the city’s youth ages 14-24. life skills
to successfully compete in the workforce. The opportunities are in partnership
with metro Detroit companies, nonprofits, municipal departments, local busin-
esses and the philanthropic community. This summer’s program will also have
young people working directly with the city, with 90 participants working across
21 City of Detroit departments. This year’s experiences will run until mid-August.
