Meals on Wheels – Detroit Area Agency on Aging
Meals on Wheels (MOW) is a free, state- and federally-funded program that delivers nutritious meals to homebound seniors and adults with disabilities in Detroit and surrounding communities.
Program Overview
MOW provides hot meals delivered once per day Monday–Friday or five frozen meals delivered once per week. It also offers liquid nutrition for those unable to eat solid food and have a physician’s prescription Detroit Area Agency on Aging+1.
Service Area: The program serves residents of:Â Detroit /Â The five Grosse Pointes (Grosse Pointe, Grosse Pointe Park, Grosse Pointe Farms, Grosse Pointe Shores, Grosse Pointe Woods) /Â Hamtramck / Harper Woods / Highland Park Detroit Area Agency on Aging+1
Eligibility Requirements Detroit Area Agency on Aging+2
You must: Be 60 years or older /Â Be homebound (unable to leave without assistance) /Â Be unable to prepare meals by yourself /Â Be unable to participate in the Congregate Meal Program /Â Be able to feed yourself / Have no caregiver available or willing to prepare meals regularly
