Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley provides critical home repairs, exterior projects, appliance replacements and other home improvements for families, individuals, seniors and veterans in Greater Washtenaw County who are of low-income. Our goal is to provide improvements that reduce energy consumption, energy costs and the impact on the environment. We also strive to provide financial and personal stress relief for homeowners who are struggling with high energy and repair costs.
Furnace Test & Tune:
In partnership with DTE, Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley, offers FREE testing and tune ups of your furnace. If you live in the Greater Washtenaw County area and own your home (rental homes, condos and multiple-residence structures are not eligible) we may be able to provide you with a FREE test and tune of your furnace. We can also provide you with other energy saving measures including LED lightbulbs, thermostats and water flow regulators.
Veterans Home Repairs & Home Ownership Programs:
Our Veterans Home Repairs and Home Ownership Program provide critical repairs to those who have served or are serving in the U.S. Military, own their home and are in need of critical repairs to live affordably, safely and comfortably
Critical home repair:
Since 2012, Habitat for Humanity Huron Valley has provided critical repairs to homeowners in Washtenaw county, resulting in an average savings of $500 a year per home. Typical repairs include roof replacements, bathroom modifications, water heater replacement and other critical home repairs.
Services for seniors:
From modifications and accessibility features to critical home improvements, our Aging in Place program provides older adults with home repairs to safely age at home.
Habitat Home!
Homeownership can be life-changing – offering a safe and stable place to build equity, generational wealth, and a stronger future. Newly renovated, energy-efficient Habitat homes are sold to those who qualify and are approved for our program. Prospective homebuyers who partner with Habitat are community-minded residents seeking the stability of homeownership.
