Ennis Center provides adoption services exclusively for children in the foster care system and is consistently ranked as one of the top specialized adoption agencies in the state.
Our adoption program provides: Adoption evaluation of children / Advocacy for special needs resources and subsidies for children and families / Recruitment, orientation and training of adoptive families / Licensing and certification of adoptive homes / Adoptive placement and support services / Supervision during the post-adoption period
Become a Foster OR Adoptive Parent:Â Ennis Center needs foster parents to give children a safe place to stay while their birth parents work on the issues that brought their children into care. A shortage of foster parents has made helping these children and families harder. We have to turn away children who need a safe place to stay because we don’t have enough foster homes. In some instances, children in foster care are unable to return to their birth family and are in need of a permanent adoptive home. Adoptive families are needed for of all ages with an immediate need for families willing to adopt siblings, teenagers, and/or children who have special emotional, mental, educational or medical needs. Ennis Center only provides adoption services for children in the foster care system.
Respite Foster Care:
Respite foster care gives foster parents a short break while another family cares for the child or teen during that time. Whether the parents are away or simply needing a break from having the foster child in their home, respite care is key. This lets the foster child stay somewhere that they can enjoy themselves in a safe and fun environment and also gives their foster parents the break they need to continue caring for the child or teen long term. Once the respite is complete the child or teen will return to their long-term foster home. Respite care can be for a few hours, overnight or up to 5 days at a time.
