Safety Net Grant Program:
Our Safety Net Grant Program provides grants to help people with health care expenses that are not covered by insurance. Typical expenses include the cost of transportation to and from dialysis, over-the-counter medicines, co-payments and other needs, for example, dentures.
Disaster Relief Grant Program:
The American Kidney Fund’s Disaster Relief Program is the nation’s only rapid-response system that provides emergency financial assistance to dialysis and recent transplant patients affected by natural disasters.
Education scholarship:
The American Kidney Fund’s (AKF) Carolyn Wilson Dialysis Patient Scholarship provides support for people with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) living in Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma to further their education or vocational training as part of an effort to initiate, maintain or resume employment and independent living. The Carolyn Wilson Dialysis Patient Scholarship is made possible by a contribution from ESRD Network 13.
Grants for children:
All of AKF’s financial assistance programs are available to children who are living with kidney failure and whose household incomes qualify them for AKF assistance.
