CLIENTS SERVED: Individuals and families throughout Metro Detroit. ACCESS was founded to serve the Arab American community but now provides services to people of all backgrounds.
DESCRIPTION:Â ACCESS (Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services) is a nonprofit organization offering more than 120 programs addressing health, behavioral health, employment, education, basic needs, youth development, and social services, while also providing specialized services for Arab American and immigrant communities.
SERVICES & PROGRAMS:
- Basic Needs & Social Services: Helps residents apply for MDHHS programs including SNAP, Medicaid, Cash Assistance, and SER; provides assistance with housing applications, unemployment benefits, FAFSA, translation, and referrals to community resources.
- Financial Stability & Employment: Financial coaching, benefits screening, career assessment, resume assistance, job referrals, job fairs, GED support, and connections to funded training programs.
- Health & Medical Services: Primary and specialty health care, public health services, WIC, substance-use treatment, infectious-disease services, and other health programs.
- Behavioral Health: Mental health counseling, substance-use treatment, psychiatric services, case management, peer support, and recovery services for adults and families.
- Youth & Young Adult Programs: Leadership development, civic engagement, neighborhood improvement, arts, career preparation, tutoring, paid training, and employment assistance for eligible youth.
- Senior & Caregiver Support: ACCESS offers programs supporting older adults and caregivers, including the Living with Alzheimer’s program serving Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties.
- Immigrant & Refugee Services: Assistance with immigration, interpretation and translation, citizenship, and connecting immigrant and refugee families with social and community resources.
- Housing & Community Support: Housing application assistance, referrals, and other support for residents experiencing housing or financial difficulties.
