Located in Whitmore Lake MI, we service low-income individuals, families, and seniors with food and other basic necessities to help ease their burden of making it through these tough financial times. We also help our clients through other services.
Register for food assistance:
Our market-style pantry gives patrons the opportunity to shop for themselves, so that they may tailor their groceries to their unique dietary needs. We offer a sliding scale for the quantity of groceries a patron may take dependent on their family size. Walk-in any time to register for our food pantry while we are open. No ID necessary, just bring yourself.
Meals on Wheels:
This option delivers meals to ill and frail persons in their homes. A liquid dietary supplement can be provided to homebound seniors who are at nutritional risk. Call the Northfield Township Community Center for more information.
Senior Cafe Meals:
Persons over the age of 60 are invited for a hot meal, nutrition education, and opportunity for socialization. Meals are served Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday at 12:30 PM at the Northfield Township Community Center. Reservations must be made by calling the senior center one week in advance.
SNAP for Veterans:
Michigan State University Veteran Outreach staff promote the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provide navigational assistance during the SNAP benefits application process.
WIC, Washtenaw County:
Women, Infants & Children (WIC) is a supplemental nutrition program for pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and kids up to five years old who are income eligible.
WIC, Livingston County:
Women, Infants & Children (WIC) is a federal health and nutrition program that helps pregnant women, new mothers, infants, and young children eat well and stay healthy.
Transportation:
Whitmore Lake Area Human Services has partnered with People’s Express to provide free public transportation to and from the clinic to residents of Green Oak township and Northfield township.                                         Book a ride with People’s Express by calling 877-214-6073 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Messages can be left 24/7. On-demand rides available only as time permits.
