DESCRIPTION: ICNA Relief Michigan, also known as Muslim Family Services, provides assistance designed to help individuals and families meet basic needs, address financial hardships, and become more self-sufficient.

SERVICES & PROGRAMS:

• Financial Assistance: Provides financial assistance with rent and utilities for individuals and families experiencing financial hardship. Applicants must submit a Michigan driver’s license or state ID, Social Security cards for the applicant and spouse, recent proof of income, and documentation of MDHHS benefits if applicable. Applicants who have received assistance from another organization must also provide documentation. Assistance is not guaranteed, and incomplete applications will be denied.
• Food Pantry & Hot Meals: Provides food assistance, including fresh produce and other groceries, through a Detroit food pantry and regularly scheduled mobile distributions.
• Self-Sufficiency & Employment Support: Case management, connections to employment and training opportunities, government benefits, and other community resources.
• Resource Center: Helps community members complete applications, search for jobs, build resumes, and develop skills. Classes include ESL, citizenship, sewing, job training, and resume building.
• Refugee Services: Helps new arrivals and refugees with employment, English-language skills, job readiness, case management, and furnishing their homes with basic necessities.
• Counseling & Mental Health: Licensed counselors provide individual, family, marital, adolescent, trauma, bereavement, substance-use, domestic-violence, and culturally appropriate counseling.
• Seasonal Assistance: Programs include Back-to-School supplies, Eid meat and toy distributions, health fairs, and neighborhood cleanups.
