MILITARY OFFICERS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA CRISIS RELIEF PROGRAM
The Crisis Relief Program offers financial assistance to those falling under one or more of the below categories: Currently serving (including National Guard and Reserve), spouses of currently serving, veterans (with an honorable discharge), surviving spouses (whose spouse held an honorable discharge), and caregivers of the same who are experiencing financial setback due to an unexpected current crisis. Open to all ranks and U.S. uniformed services.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for assistance through the Crisis Relief Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Current Status: Must be currently serving (including National Guard and Reserve), a veteran with an honorable discharge, a surviving spouse of a veteran, or a caregiver of the same.
Financial Hardship: Applicants must be experiencing a financial crisis due to unexpected events, such as government furloughs or natural disasters.
Application Timeline: The crisis must have occurred no more than six months prior to the application submission.
Applicants experiencing a crisis (e.g. government furlough, natural disaster) and are experiencing extreme financial hardship as a result of this crises. We welcome those experiencing any unique crisis situations so long as specific information is provided when applying. The crisis in which an applicant is submitting an application for must have occurred no more than 6 months prior to the date of the application submission.
Types of Assistance Provided:
The program can provide up to $1,000 in financial assistance for various needs, including:
Emergency housing or shelter
Food and essential supplies
Other immediate needs related to the crisis
Note: The program does not cover legal fees or child support payments.
Due to extremely limited funding, we will only accept applications from veterans, surviving spouses of veterans, and caregivers of veterans whose discharge is either Honorable or General Discharge Under Honorable Conditions. We cannot accept the following discharge statuses:
Other Than Honorable (OTH) Discharge
Bad Conduct Discharge
Dishonorable Discharge
