BONE MARROW & CANCER FOUNDATIONÂ
Financial Resources:
There are many expenses associated with cancer treatment or transplantation that are not covered by insurance, from co-pays to lost wages to travel costs. From our tax-free Carelinesâ„¢ fundraising platform to free temporary housing near hospitals, we are here to help you navigate and ease the financial stress.
Housing Assistance Program:
Our Housing Assistance Program (HAP) enables patients and families to travel to the best cancer centers to receive care without worrying about the costs of lodging.
How it Works:
Our housing assistance team reviews applications submitted by social workers or nurses on behalf of eligible patients. Once approved, the team assesses the patient’s housing needs and books an Airbnb home near their treatment center. Note: Currently, housing is grant dependent.
How to Apply:
Patients who would like to be considered for temporary housing assistance should have their social worker or nurse reach out to us for an application at hap@bonemarrow.org. Note that medical team members must apply on behalf of patients.
CancerBuddyâ„¢:Â Making cancer a little less lonely.
The first peer-support app for the cancer community. CancerBuddy is a free app that helps patients, survivors, and caregivers connect with others who are facing similar experiences. People facing any cancer can be matched with others by diagnosis, treatment, side effects, age, interests, hospital, city or state, and more.
