THE JOE ANDRUZZI FOUNDATION
How We Help?
The Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF) is committed to providing assistance to patients of all ages throughout New England who have fallen into financial hardships as a result of a cancer diagnosis. JAF understands that a cancer diagnosis does not put everyday living expenses on hold. That is why JAF has various Financial Assistance Programs targeting those household expenses that cancer regimens typically disrupt, leaving patients struggling to make ends meet.
Because patients and families must often devote all of their energy and resources towards battling the disease, the Foundation helps alleviate financial and emotional stress by delivering support through Financial Assistance, Food Security, Extraordinary Needs, and Treatment Transportation Programs, as well as (Up)Beat Events. In addition, JAF recently launched UniCORN (Universal Community Oncology Resource Network) that is a free, online information portal available to patients and caregivers to identify other resources to support them on their cancer journey. The Foundation’s programming removes financial barriers and allows patients to access or complete their treatment.
EXTRAORDINARY NEEDS:
The Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF) Extraordinary Needs Program grants New England cancer patients and their families with assistance for project-based needs that present a barrier to treatment. Extraordinary Needs supports New England cancer patients and their families with a one-time grant of up to $4,000 for project-based needs that present a barrier to treatment for a patient such as fertility preservation, dental work, and required home improvement projects needed to provide the patient with high-priority necessities. Past examples of needs granted to patients include a down payment for a car so the family could have reliable transportation to treatment and dental work required before starting a course of treatment. Patients work directly with their social worker, patient navigator, resource specialist, or another healthcare professional familiar with their treatment to apply.
Serves: JAF provides financial assistance to patients and families residing in New England, helping them focus on recovery – not bills.
