Phase 2 of THAW’s MI Water Program (Michigan Water Affordability Through Efficiency and Repair)
Phase 2 provides minor plumbing repairs, in-home water energy efficiency/conservation assessments, education, and water conservation supplies to eligible households within Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties with priority given to the poorest communities that were the hardest hit by COVID-19 including Detroit, Highland Park, Hamtramck, Ecorse, River Rouge, and Pontiac. The Heat And Warmth Fund — otherwise known as THAW — is kicking off the MI Neighborhood program
in the Yorkshire Woods Community.
THAW offers wrap-around services in addition to utility assistance to help people get back on track.
The nonprofit has handed out $216 million in assistance to nearly 300,000 homes since it started in
1985. Overall, the hope is to improve the long-term health and financial security of the neighborhood
via the pathway of home rehab and renovation. THAW was awarded $471,000 to make the transition
repairs.

The Heat and Warmth Fund can help! THAW has funds available for the MI Water Minor Plumbing Pro-
gram. Tri-County residents who are at or below 300% and who meet additional eligibility criteria may
apply for assistance. Repair maximum is $2500 per household. Please visit thawfund.org, call 1-800-
