Accessibility Modification Program (AMP) of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLB) provides grants up to $12,000 for accessibility modifications for eligible senior homeowners and owner-occupied households with a person or people who have a permanent disability. Up to 50% of funds requested or a maximum of $4,000 may be used for deferred maintenance items such as roofing, siding, or windows.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
All household members must be age 62 and older; age 62 and older and age 17 or younger, where the older household member is the guardian of the younger household members; or any age with a permanent disability and currently receiving permanent disability benefits (SSDI or SSI, and documentation should support payment of benefits for at least 60 days). Homeowners must own and occupy a single-family home, condominium, or modular unit (plus duplexes, with certain restrictions) for at least six months prior to enrollment and be current on mortgage payments.
