CLIENTS SERVED: Adults age 60+ and their spouses

DESCRIPTION: Provides nutritious meals in community settings where older adults can eat with others and receive nutrition education and social connection. Meals are provided at no charge, although donations are accepted, and some meal sites offer transportation to and from the site.

PROGRAMS/SERVICES:

• Congregate Meals: Nutritious meals served Monday through Friday at participating community meal sites.
• Nutrition Education: Nutrition education is provided regularly at meal sites.
• Transportation: Transportation to and from the meal site is available at some locations.
• Accessible Locations: Participating facilities are barrier-free and handicap accessible.

HOW TO ACCESS SERVICES: Call the Detroit Area Agency on Aging at 313-446-4444 to find a participating congregate meal site and learn how to access meals. Sites may change based on funding and program operations, so call to verify times and locations.
