PSI provides a worldwide network of peer support, reliable information, professional trainings, and coordinators in all US states and 35 other countries.
Helps mothers experiencing emotional changes during pregnancy and after childbirth. One in seven women experience postpartum depression after giving birth, with nearly 50% going undiagnosed. Volunteers work nationwide and across more than 40 other countries to assist and educate people and advocate for further research and legislation in support of perinatal mental health.
Visitors to the website can find specialized coordinators for help navigating specific situations, including eating disorders, teen pregnancies and domestic violence. Also central to the nonprofit’s work is a 24/7 helpline for mothers, as well as free live phone sessions for new dads on the first Tuesday of each month. PSI offers the world’s first certification in perinatal mental health, which can guide patients looking for those with professional and clinical experience in this space.
