CLIENTS SERVED: Low-income adults age 62 and older, and adults with severe disabilities.
DESCRIPTION: Sponsored by the Capital Area Housing Partnership, The Tuesday Toolmen program provides low or no-cost accessibility modifications and minor home repairs to help older adults and people with disabilities remain safe and independent in their homes, prevent falls, and improve access to and within the home. Renters may apply, but the landlord must approve the requested work.
PROGRAMS/SERVICES:
- Accessibility Modifications: Construction of entry ramps and installation of accessibility devices such as grab bars, handrails, and other modifications that improve safe access and mobility within the home.
- Home Repairs & Maintenance: Limited construction, repair, and technical assistance related to accessibility and home safety.
HOW TO ACCESS SERVICES:
- Call 517-332-4663 to: inquire about eligibility and the program. Visit the Tuesday Toolmen website for a printable application and submit required documentation of household income, homeownership/rental status, eligibility, requested repairs, and any other supporting documentation.
- In-person assistance: Documents can be copied at the Capital Area Housing Partnership office. Completed applications may be mailed or dropped off at the office.
