CLIENTS SERVED: Detroit families with children ages 0–8 and their caregivers.

DESCRIPTION: Brilliant Detroit is the Detroit-based hub which is the founding model for the national program. The neighborhood hubs provide families with free programs, resources, and connections focused on early childhood education, health and wellness, family support, and community building. Services may vary by hub and neighborhood.

PROGRAMS/SERVICES:

• Neighborhood Family Hubs: Establishes an early childhood hub, through the purchase and transformation of a vacant house, and establishment of partnerships with local organizations to improve literacy, health, and family support. They work with a local Advisory Team to ensure that community needs are being heard and met.
• Early Childhood & Education: Supports early learning, literacy, and educational opportunities for young children and their caregivers to help reach key developmental milestones.
• Health & Wellness: Connects families with nutrition, physical activity, mental health, and other wellness resources.
• Family Support: Provides or connects families to practical resources such as food, diapers, clothing, books, and other basic needs.
• Community Building: Supports community meals, family activities, neighborhood events, and opportunities for families to build connections.
• Community Expansion: Works with communities interested in bringing the Brilliant Cities neighborhood-hub model to their area.

Find a Brilliant Hub: Call 313-483-8992 or visit the Detroit website to find the hubs in your area. Then click on Join Us to fill out the online form. If your neighborhood is not listed, there is not an established hub yet.
