DESCRIPTION:
Provides deferred, no-interest home rehabilitation loans for eligible homeowners to bring homes up to minimum code standards, correct health and safety hazards, improve accessibility, and address energy-related improvements. No interest is charged and no payments are required during the life of the loan unless the homeowner moves or ownership of the property changes. Remodeling and substantial reconstruction are not covered. The program can typically take four to six months to complete.
SERVICES / PROGRAMS:
- Home Rehabilitation Loan: Provides deferred, no-interest financing for eligible home repairs that address health, safety, code, accessibility, and other qualifying rehabilitation needs. Common eligible repairs include roofing, electrical, plumbing, furnaces, sewer work, foundation repairs, and handicap/accessibility needs like ramps.
- Lead Hazard & Structural Repairs: May also address lead-based paint hazards and structural defects affecting residents’ health and safety.

- Applicants should review the City’s required CDBG rehabilitation FAQ, then complete the CDBG Home Rehabilitation Loan application online. The City requires the application to be complete, signed and dated, with all requested documentation. Missing information can delay processing.
