CLIENTS SERVED:

• Home and Respite Care: Seniors age 60+, or residents with permanent disabilities who need assistance with daily tasks or respite care.
• Specialized Transportation: Available to all individuals in Monroe County.

DESCRIPTION: MCOP’s Home Care Department provides in-home assistance with everyday activities and professional respite care for family caregivers. There is a fee determined by household monthly income. MCOP Specialized Transportation provides rides to non-emergency medical appointments and treatments.

SERVICES / PROGRAMS:

• Home Care: Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning kitchen/bathroom, laundry, meal prep, grocery shopping, bathing/showering.
• Respite Care: Coordinates volunteers to provide temporary relief for family caregivers. Includes companionship, at home activities, going for walks, etc. Not a professional CNA/Home Care Workers service.
• Transportation: MCOP has 6 wheelchair accessible vehicles to provide round-trip, door-to-door rides to non-emergency medical & dental appointments within a 50 mile radius of the MCOP offices. Service is not available outside of Michigan. Operates Monday thru Saturday, 5 am to 5 pm.

  • Clients with full Medicaid can contact their caseworker at DHHS, 734-243-7200 to see if they qualify
  • Clients in Family Medical Centers should contact their Primary Care Physician for a referral.

• Transportation: Call 734-241-2775, ext. 209 or 218 to schedule a ride. One week’s advance notice is preferred.
