DESCRIPTION:  Foundation for Pops aims to empower people experiencing homelessness and veterans through education, resource development, assistance, and supportive services to enhance their economic mobility and secure, quality, affordable housing

SERVES / PROGRAMS: 

Veterans:  We prioritize supporting the veterans who have served our country. Many face unique challenges when they return home, and we’re here to make sure they receive the care and resources they deserve. Our veteran programs offer help with housing, healthcare, counseling, employment, and more.

Homeless: At Foundation for Pops, our primary focus is on the homeless community. We recognize the struggles faced by individuals without stable housing, and we are committed to providing the necessary support to help them rebuild their lives. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to offer assistance for the homeless, including shelter, food, clothing, and other essential resources.

Pop’s Closet:  Pops’ Closet provides free clothing and essentials for individuals and families facing homelessness or financial hardship. Visitors can find clean, seasonally appropriate clothing, professional attire, and hygiene items in a welcoming environment.

Master Leasing Family Shelter Pilot: In June of 2025, Foundation for Pops was one of eight nonprofit organizations in Michigan, and the only one in Wayne County, to be selected for the state’s Master Leasing Family Shelter Pilot. This program aims to provide safe, temporary housing for families experiencing homelessness by leasing homes directly and offering wraparound support.

Education:  Foundation For Pops offers skill-building workshops that help individuals grow personally and professionally. From resume writing and interviewing to financial capability, credit basics, and entrepreneurship, our classes provide the tools needed to move forward with confidence.
