We envision a future where everyone can achieve stability, dignity, and opportunity. We will create thriving communities with affordable homes, connect individuals and families to essential resources, and foster a supportive workplace for our employees.
Our Values:
As an organization, we are driven by the values of Inclusion, Integrity, Innovation, and Passion.
Our Impact:
Our work is rooted in the idea that decent, affordable, and stable housing is a necessary foundation for a healthy, successful life. Community Housing Network has a demonstrated track record and depth of experience in housing development, crisis response, supportive services, homeownership programming and homeless response spanning more than two decades across Oakland, Macomb and Wayne counties.
Our Housing Developments:
CHN has added nearly 900 units of affordable housing to the landscape in Michigan. With more projects underway, CHN continues to actively seek opportunities to work with local, state and federal entities to create high-quality, residential rental homes for hard-working families and individuals.
Creating Homes:
Through a wide variety of housing models and funding sources, CHN has created and/or preserved over 600 units of affordable housing, including: Private market rental apartments / Rental homes and condominiums / Licensed and unlicensed group homes / Single-family homes
Building Communities:
CHN has developed ten housing communities with 295 units for low income-families and individuals and people with disabilities using Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) reservations. Each community was built from the ground up, transforming a blighted area into an attractive, affordable, thriving community.
What is Getting My Own Address?
Getting My Own Address (GMOA) is a program to educate and assist individuals with any disability, their families, and other natural and professional supports in creating a successful long-term housing plan that can be implemented at a time of choice or need. The GMOA guide was compiled with input from individuals with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities, and their families and supports (including teachers, transition coordinators, supports coordinators, caregivers, and others.
The program makes clear the steps, options and choices that are available to plan for housing in the community of one’s choice. It’s never too early to make a plan!
