In 1895, ten Detroiters contributed $50 each to be used as interest-free loans to the Jewish community, forming what would become Hebrew Free Loan Detroit. Today, Hebrew Free Loan continues to better the lives of Jewish people across Michigan with a wide range of personal, business and educational loans, all interest-free. We provide loans. We promise dignity.
Types of Loans / HFLAs offer a wide range of loans, including:
Personal loans for emergencies, medical bills, fertility treatments, or family needs / Student and education loans for tuition, training, or certification programs / Small business loans to help entrepreneurs launch or grow businesses / Home improvement or housing loans, including debt consolidation / Specialized loans for adoption, weddings, funerals, or religious events
Loan amounts and terms vary by location, with some associations offering up to $30,000 for qualified borrowers
Maximum Loan Amount Available: $10,000
Co-Signer requirement: 2 qualifying Michigan co-signers. Some exceptions may apply.
