Saline Area Social Service is a community resource that serves over 600 individuals living in and around Saline facing financial hardship. We provide weekly groceries, emergency assistance for rent, utilities, and car repairs, prescription co-pays, support for youth, and special programs throughout the year to support those in need.

If you or your family are facing difficult decisions between keeping food on the table and meeting other basic necessities. We are here to provide you essential resources that will help to improve your life.

Saline Area Social Service is a unique agency in that while food assistance is our central focus, we also offer a wide variety of additional services and resources to our clients.

Food Pantry – Includes fresh, frozen, canned and boxed goods, diapers, toiletries and paper products. We also provide special items, like laundry soap, dish soap, shampoo, deodorant and feminine hygiene products to our clients monthly.
Emergency Assistance – Limited assistance with rent, energy bills, car repair and prescription co-pays.
Personal Items – Including eyeglasses, backpacks, children’s musical instruments and supplies.
Youth Financial Aid – For children under the age of 18 to participate in sports, music, art, drama, and other activities.
Back-to-School – Including backpacks, supplies, and shoes.
Birthday Gifts – For children under the age of 18.
Holiday Meal Programs – For Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Adopt-a-Family – Matches our families with generous adopters for gifts during the Christmas season.
Referrals – To government agencies and additional resources that can help our clients with specific needs.
