Since opening in July of 2020, the Carhartt Workshop Tool Bench has been home to an ever-growing inventory of over 1,600 tools and over 3,000 users. Located above our flagship store in Detroit, hard- working people from all over Southeast Michigan have come to borrow tools ranging from hammers
and rakes to planers and floor sanders, and found the Tool Bench to be an invaluable service when
fixing up 100-year-old homes or 200-year-old alleys. Offering a variety of classes, the Carhartt Work-
shop’s Tool Bench is quickly establishing itself as a DIY hub for people of all skill levels.

Need a tool? The Carhartt Workshop Tool Bench not only has it, we’ll let you borrow it free of charge
for seven days, with an option to extend for an additional week, if needed. Whether you’re looking to
rent power tools, hand tools, or landscaping and gardening tools, just bring them back when you’re
done, so more built-by-hand projects can get started.
