Filling in the Gaps:
The additional expenses associated with cancer treatment and transplants, that are not covered by health insurance, can be prohibitive. The BMCF’s financial assistance programs help ease the burdens for patients and their families. Lifeline Fund: This fund helps cover living and ancillary expenses related to bone marrow transplants, including costs for donor searches, medications, and transportation. It is specifically aimed at patients affiliated with certified transplant centers who are on track for a transplant or receiving post-transplant care.
Housing Assistance:
Through grants, private funding and corporate support, we are able to offer temporary Airbnb accommodations to cancer and transplant patients in need of life-saving treatments. This program enables patients and families to travel to the best cancer centers to receive care, without worrying about the costs of lodging.
Eligibility and Application:
Applications must be completed by a medical professional (social worker or nurse coordinator) and cannot be submitted directly by patients. The fund provides financial support based on specific needs outlined in the application.
