CENTER OF HOPE
The Free Choice Market at Center of Hope is more than just a food pantry…..it’s a place of dignity, choice, and compassionate connection. Unlike traditional pantries, guests at the Free Choice Market shop with a volunteer companion who helps them navigate the shelves and select the items their family actually wants and needs. This grocery-store-style approach reduces waste, empowers families, and creates space for meaningful conversations, prayer, and support. Stocked with fresh produce, meats, shelf-stable items, and household essentials, the market is open several days a week by appointment, ensuring that no one has to face hunger alone. It’s a key part of our mission to not only meet immediate physical needs, but also to build trust and open doors to deeper life change.
Welcoming a New Life Should Bring Joy, Not Fear: The Center of Hope provides help and Compassionate Support for Women Facing Unexpected Pregnancy: That’s why our Parenting Program and Baby Closet exist, to walk alongside you from the very beginning, turning moments of worry into moments of joy. We provide not only essential baby items, but also ongoing parenting support, mentorship, and faith-based encouragement so you can focus on loving your child and building a strong foundation for your family’s future.
The Baby Closet is a fully stocked, welcoming space offering newborn to 5T clothing, diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, and other critical supplies—all free of charge for families in need. Parents and guardians can visit once a month by appointment. Just fill out a short application, and once approved, we’ll schedule your visit and personally walk you through the space.
Together, we serve individuals and families in crisis with more than just food or diapers. We offer mentoring, life skills training, parenting support, and counseling, all aimed at helping people break the cycles of poverty and instability. Also on the property are three large homes, each over 7,800 sq. ft., which are being transforming into Southern Genesee County’s first emergency housing program for women and children in crisis. This will be more than shelter, it will be a launchpad; a place for healing, rebuilding, and regaining independence.
Serves Genessee, Shiawassee, Livingston, and Oakland counties in MIÂ
