COMMUNITY NUTRITION / CONGREGATE DINING /HOME DELIVERED MEALS / USDA FOODS: The GOCAA/FAWM supported distribution locations, dates, and times for both local and mobile pantries are located on the FAWM website. https://www.feedwm.org/findfood  Participants in need of emergency food may pick up a package of food at our office. For more information about The Emergency Food Assistance Program please contact our office at 906- 663-1080.
IN-HOME SERVICES FOR SENIORS: In-Home Services are available to residents of Gogebic County who are 60 years of age or older. All services are intended to support seniors in maintaining their independence and ensuring they continue to be a vital part of our community. PLEASE NOTE: In-Home Services are provided on a donation basis. Donations are then filtered back into the program to extend services. SERVICES INCLUDE: Personal Care /Homemaker Aide / Respite Care  NOTE: No transportation is provided by in-home aides.
EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION: Offers Early Head Start is a program for children and families from pregnant woman to three years as well as Head Start.  Home-based services (staff comes to the home) with virtual option / Activities for you and your infant or toddler /Ideas on parenting / Support for health and nutrition education / Support during pregnancy / Information regarding community resources / Referral services  Other services provided by Early Head Start include: Support groups /Family Fun Days /Transition into appropriate pre-school programs / Parent involvement opportunities
HOUSING & UTILITIES: MSHDA HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER:Â MSHDA Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV) are made available by the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development and local Public Housing Authority to provide rental subsidies to very low-income families, elderly and disabled people. Their income must be under 50% of the Area Median Income for the location they are planning to live. Those who receive a voucher are then able to look for housing wherever a MSHDA voucher is accepted. To see if the HCV Waitlist is open in your area, call us. If you are homeless, please call 906-667-0283 ext. 18 to do an assessment over the phone BEFORE applying for a MSHDA voucher online.
