Teen Summer Camp:
We provide a safe, welcoming space where 16 and 17-year-olds who are blind or low vision can learn, explore and connect with peers sharing similar experiences. Teen Camp will take place on Sunday, June 21 – Saturday, June 27, 2026. Application deadline is Friday, April 3, 2026.
What is Teen Summer Camp?

Participate in a variety of camp activities, which could include tandem bike rides, rock wall climbing and a talent show
Who Is Eligible for Teen Summer Camp?
This program is for 16- and 17-year-olds who are blind or low vision. Upon arrival, campers will meet a community of peers and leaders who value, encourage and support them and their development. Attendees should be able to travel to campus and manage daily activities such as dressing, bathing and eating independently.
Where Does Teen Summer Camp Happen?
Teen Summer Camp takes place for one week at the end of June at Leader Dogs for the Blind in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Our campus is thoughtfully designed with accessibility, comfort and safety in mind. While on our campus, our staff will provide careful, 24/7 supervision throughout the week.
What will be provided at camp?
Campers receive a t-shirt, fun swag, and helpful tools that support independent travel. All meals, lodging, instruction, and activities are also included—at no cost to families.
Traveling:
To help give you and your family peace of mind, Leader Dogs for the Blind coordinates and covers the cost of all public transportation to and from our campus for campers traveling within the United States and Canada. Supervision begins the moment your teen camper is greeted at the airport and continues throughout their entire stay. We’re here to support your family every step of the way.
