​MCHS Family of Services is a child welfare agency located in Redford
and Detroit providing foster care and adoption, transitional living, child
abuse prevention and community wellness programs.
INDEPENDENT LIVING Plus:
ILP supports young men who are aging out of foster care by providing mentorship,
life skills training, financial literacy, education assistance, workforce development,
and much more, so they have the confidence and resources needed to succeed.
TEEN INFANT PARENTING SERVICES (TIPS):
Teen Infant Parenting Services Program (TIPS) supports young parents seeking guidance and safety. TIPS offers transitional housing, parenting classes, personal
and group counseling, life skills training, case management, and more. These ser-
vices are available to homeless parents and their young children in Detroit.
MY FRIEND’S PLACE:
For young people experiencing homelessness, we provide transitional housing
and rapid re-housing services for up to 24 youth at a time. Our young people
receive comprehensive support including housing, resources, case management,
therapeutic interventions to ensure stability and long-term success.
SUPERVISED INDEPENDENT LIVING:
Serving teenagers with a history of delinquent behaviors, trauma, and mental
health issues, our youth receive extensive skill-building, employment, recreational, and case management services.
