This program makes basic local LANDLINE TELEPHONE SERVICE more affordable for low-income families through
a discount on their monthly telephone service.
Eligible low-income consumers can receive the following discounts:
1. Under age 65 receive a discount of $8.25 to $11.25 per month (discount varies depending on service provider)
2. Age 65 or older receive a minimum discount of $12.35 per month.
To apply for the Michigan Lifeline Program, consumers should contact their telephone service provider. You may
also contact the Michigan Public Service Commission.
Lifeline Service AND Link-Up
Lifeline Telephone Assistance is available to help qualified customers with their monthly phone bills. Lifeline service provides a discount on your monthly bill. You may be qualified if you receive some form of government assistance. Reduces the installation charge for phone service by 50%, up to $30 for qualified customers. Also provides discounts
for basic local wireline telephone service on monthly telephone bills. All local wireline telephone service providers in
MI are required to provide Link-Up and Lifeline. Contact your local telephone company to apply!
