The Sinai-Grace Guild Community Development Corporation is a nonprofit serving the Winship,
College Park, Crary/St. Mary’s, Hubbell-Puritan, Belmont, Bethune, Harmony Village, and Schulze neighborhoods. Driven by our community residents, businesses, and leaders, the Sinai-Grace
Guild Community Development Corporation is committed to holistic and equitable revitalization
toward a thriving, healthy, and sustainable Northwest Detroit.
Neighborhood Enhancement Program:
The Sinai-Grace Guild Community Development Corporation received a grant from the Michigan
State Housing Development Authority through the Neighborhood Enhancement Program. The
program makes exterior home improvements for safety, visibility, and efficiency from the street
to the neighborhood. Within three rounds we have been able to fix broken porches, stairs, railings, windows, peeling paint, and damaged siding to over 27 homes.
Insure Your Home Program:
The Sinai-Grace Guild Community Development Corporation is a recipient of a grant awarded
by the United Way of Southeastern Michigan. It will replace the roofs of 3-5 homeowners whose
homes are not currently insured due to the condition of their roof. Upon completion of repairs,
the homeowner will be issued an insurance policy.
Home Weatherization:
The Home Weatherization Program in partnership with Walker-Miller Energy Services has provided
senior homeowners in Belmont, College Park, and Winship communities with home energy consultations, and comprehensive energy assessments. We have completed 30 homes which resulted in
an estimated annual energy bill savings of $300 for each resident.
Accessibility Modifications Program (AMP):
AMP provides funding for accessibility modifications and minor home rehabilitation for both income‐eligible senior homeowners and owner‐occupied households with a person(s) with a permanent dis-
ability. Eligible households must have household income at or below 80% of the area median income
(AMI). The maximum subsidy that can be requested per household is $12,000.
Live Local:
The Live Local program, launched in 2021 through the generous support of the Ballmer Group and
DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital, is managed through SGGCDC. This program is designed to support new homeownership, encourage residential growth in the neighborhoods, and spur local investment. If
you work in and around the local area you may be eligible for up to $10,000 to purchase a new home
or renovate an existing home near work. To date we have assisted 8 homeowners for exterior home improvements and one first-time homeowner.
