CLIENTS SERVED: All Michigan residents seeking health, human-service, or community resources. The service is free and confidential, with assistance available in more than 180 languages.

DESCRIPTION: Michigan 211 is a statewide network made up of seven regional 211 contact centers that provide free information and referral services. The system connects residents with more than 27,000 health and human-service programs throughout Michigan. Trained specialists assess a caller’s needs and identify appropriate local resources for issues such as housing, utilities, food, transportation, healthcare, financial assistance, clothing, household needs, legal & public safety, immigration and refugee resources, and family or personal crisis support.

• UPCAP 2-1-1 — Upper Peninsula Commission for Area Progress (UPCAP) — upcap.org — Serves the 15 counties of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
• Gryphon Place 2-1-1 — gryphon.org — Serves southwest Michigan, including Allegan, Berrien, Branch, Cass, Calhoun, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, and Van Buren counties.
• Central Michigan 2-1-1 — centralmichigan211.org — Serves Clinton, Eaton, Genesee, Hillsdale, Ingham, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, Monroe, and Shiawassee counties.
• United Way for Southeastern Michigan 2-1-1 — United Way for Southeastern Michigan — Serves Lapeer, Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties.
• 2-1-1 Northeast Michigan — 2-1-1 Northeast Michigan — Serves 23 counties in northeast Michigan, including Alpena, Bay, Midland, Saginaw, St. Clair, and Tuscola. The Michigan 211 site is the current official statewide source for this center.
• Community Access Line of the Lakeshore (CALL) 2-1-1 — CALL 2-1-1 — Serves western Michigan counties including Charlevoix, Emmet, Manistee, Missaukee, Muskegon, Ottawa, and Wexford.
• Heart of West Michigan United Way 2-1-1 — Heart of West Michigan United Way 211 — Serves 15 counties in western/central-west Michigan, including Kent, Ionia, Mason, Mecosta, Montcalm, Newaygo, Oceana, and Osceola.
