CLIENTS SERVED: Open to Airmen & Guardians and dependent children or spouses of Airmen and Guardians, both active-duty and retired.
DESCRIPTION:Â Financial assistance is given when a qualifying individual cannot otherwise pay for basic needs essential to personal effectiveness as an Air force member. Emergency Assistance can be given as an interest free loan. Most assistance provided through interest free loans come with a repayment schedule.
SERVICES/PROGRAMS:
- Financial Assistance: For Emergency travel, natural disasters or other emergency needs.
- Educational Support: Dependent children and spouses of Airmen and Guardians can receive AFAS education grants, scholarships and loans for college tuition.
- Bundles for Babies: Teaches soon-to-be and new parents basic parenting and financial skills to budget for new babies from birth to college. After completing the class, parents can apply for a $150 monetary gift to help purchase baby’s first essentials.
- Car Seat Program:Â Helps eligible Airmen and Guardians with a one-time $200 payment to offset car seat / booster seat costs. Available to Active-Duty Air Force and Space Force members in grades E-1 through E-5.
- Childcare Program:Â Provides funding for monthly childcare breaks for active-duty Air Force and Space Force families.
