Equipment Loan Closet:
Our medical equipment loan closet is available free of charge to all of our Michigan pALS. Durable equipment for loan include ramps, lifts, wheelchairs, communication devices, & more. We also accept donations of new or used equipment that is clean and in working order. Items that we cannot accept include cough assist or BiPAP machines, beds, shower chairs, or commodes.
In-Home Care:
Our In-Home Care Assistance Program provides relief to caregivers living with and caring for a loved one with ALS or to pALS who require care but do not have caretakers. The program funds up to 20 hours of home health care services per month at a rate up of to $25/hr.
Special Wish Program: The Albert Burstein Wish Fund awards pALS a one-time grant of $2,500 to help fulfill a wish that would make their lives more meaningful
Thomas E. Worford, Jr. Transportation Program:
This program assists pALS who can no longer drive or need wheelchair-accessible transport to non-medical appointments, family gatherings, community events, vacations or other excursions. pALS are eligible to be reimbursed $300 each year for expenses provided by independent transportation companies.
