SERVICE AREA: National organization with programs currently operating or being developed in Detroit, Pontiac, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Cleveland. Services are provided through individual neighborhood hubs and are limited to participating communities.

CLIENTS SERVED: Families with children ages 0–8 living in communities where Brilliant Cities has established or is developing neighborhood hubs.

DESCRIPTION: Brilliant Cities is a national nonprofit that develops and supports neighborhood-based family hubs designed to connect families with young children, to free educational, health, family-support, and community-building resources.

PROGRAMS/SERVICES:

• Neighborhood Family Hubs: Establishes an early childhood hub, through the purchase and transformation of a vacant house, and establishment of partnerships with local organizations to improve literacy, health, and family support. They work with a local Advisory Team to ensure that community needs are being heard and met.
• Early Childhood & Education: Supports early learning, literacy, and educational opportunities for young children and their caregivers to help reach key developmental milestones.
• Health & Wellness: Connects families with nutrition, physical activity, mental health, and other wellness resources.
• Family Support: Provides or connects families to practical resources such as food, diapers, clothing, books, and other basic needs.
• Community Building: Supports community meals, family activities, neighborhood events, and opportunities for families to build connections.
• Community Expansion: Works with communities interested in bringing the Brilliant Cities neighborhood-hub model to their area.
