DESCRIPTION: Cell Phones for Soldiers is a national nonprofit that helps military members and veterans stay connected through free or reduced-cost phone service and emergency financial assistance.

SERVICES /PROGRAMS:                                                                                                                                                                                             

• Evergreen Program: Offers veterans a reduced-cost mobile phone plan at $25 per month. Veterans can bring their own device and may add one family member.
• Cell Phones for Soldiers Mobile: Provides eligible low-income or at-risk veterans with a free smartphone and one year of paid unlimited talk, text, and data. Veterans must provide proof of military service and demonstrate financial need. The current enrollment period is closed.
• Minutes That Matter: Provides international calling cards to deployed service members so they can stay in contact with loved ones. Currently not accepting new applications.
• Helping Heroes Home: Provides one-time emergency financial assistance to veterans and their families for urgent needs such as housing, medical expenses, utilities, transportation, and communication services. Currently not accepting new applications.

• Cell Phones for Soldiers Mobile: Check the program page to find out when enrollment reopens. To apply, provide proof of service, such as a DD-214, along with income information.
