Detroit Public Schools Community District FoundationÂ
The Detroit Public Schools Community District Foundation is the official fundraising and partnership arm of Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD), the largest public school district in Michigan. We work to ensure that every student—across every school—has access to the tools, resources, and experiences they need to thrive in and beyond the classroom.
Detroit Public Schools Community District Foundation has announced that 105 schools will receive new washers and dryers by the end of 2024. This initiative is aimed at addressing one of the barriers to education—access to clean clothes—which contributes to chronic absenteeism in the district, according to a news release. The washers and dryers will be used to clean a variety of items, including sports uniforms, swim class attire, and blankets for pre-K students.
