APPLICATIONS FOR TREE REMOVAL OPEN JUNE 12th

Private Tree Removal Program (Round 3)

There are THREE programs available to the City of Flint residents to assist in the maintenance or removal of trees on private property that may pose a safety concern. If you own and live in your house within the City of Flint, these programs may be for you! The available programs will continue as long as funding is available, or until the program ends. Applications are available now for your review and will be accepted through the programs end on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 11:59 PM. Online applications will be accepted immediately upon clicking the submit button. Applications will be available Friday, June 12, 2026. The downloadable form may be dropped off at the Mays Senior and Community Center, at the McKinley Community Center, at the information desk of City Hall, or placed in the red treasury box in front of City Hall before the deadline.

Match Tree Removal Program: 
For this program, the City of Flint will match up to $2,000 dollars to assist with the removal of a private tree that is dangerous/dying or has become a safety concern.

Grant Tree Removal Program:
For this program, any resident that meets the income criteria as required for the HOPE Program, may apply for this program to request up to $2,000 to assist with the removal of a private tree that is dangerous/dying or has become a safety concern.

Senior Grant Tree Removal Program: 
For this program, the City of Flint will grant up to $2,000 dollars to assist with the removal of a private tree that is dangerous/dying or has become a safety concern for senior citizens (aged 65+).
