CLIENTS SERVED: Low-income individuals and families who own cats or dogs requiring urgent or life-saving veterinary treatment and cannot afford the cost of care.

DESCRIPTION: For The Love Of Alex (FTLOA) is a nonprofit organization that helps pet owners obtain necessary medical treatment when veterinary expenses would otherwise put their pets at risk of surrender or economic euthanasia. Assistance is determined individually based on financial need, the pet’s medical condition, and available funding. Payments are made directly to veterinary providers and other approved suppliers rather than to pet owners.

PROGRAMS/SERVICES:

• Emergency Veterinary Assistance: Financial assistance for urgent and life-saving veterinary treatment for cats and dogs whose owners cannot afford necessary care.
• Veterinary Surgeries & Procedures: Assistance with medically necessary surgeries and procedures, including treatment for serious injuries, tumors, urinary conditions, and other urgent health problems.
• Diagnostic Testing & Treatment: Funding for veterinary examinations, diagnostic tests, medications, and follow-up treatment associated with approved medical cases.
• Emergency Fund: Financial assistance toward some or all of an eligible pet’s urgent veterinary expenses, depending on individual circumstances and available resources.
• Prescription & Nutritional Support: Payment for veterinary-prescribed medications and specialized nutrition when included in an approved treatment plan.
• Ongoing Case Support: Works with pet owners and veterinary providers throughout approved treatment to help pets recover and maintain their health.
