Franklin Wright Settlements is a multi-service neighborhood human-services organization that provides programs addressing basic needs, family and community support, education, youth development, senior services, and food insecurity. The organization focuses on helping individuals and families remain healthy, safe, independent, and connected to community resources.

SERVICES & PROGRAMS:

• Food Pantry & Food Distribution: Provides supplemental food through partnerships with Forgotten Harvest and Focus: HOPE. The organization also conducts weekly food distributions and provides emergency food assistance.
• Utility Assistance: Partners with THAW and United Way of Southeastern Michigan to connect eligible residents with utility assistance and energy-crisis programs.
• Senior Outreach Services: Programs designed to help seniors remain healthy, safe, and independent, including congregate meals, transportation, socialization, fitness activities, food and supply distribution, welfare checks, and connections to community resources.
• Youth Programs: After-school enrichment, tutoring and homework assistance, STEM and creative activities, Youth Success Academy/Teen Center programming, leadership and life-skills development, and college and career opportunities.
• Early Childhood Development: Early Start provides childcare and early childhood services for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years, including meals, diapers, developmental activities, respite, and parenting support.
• Summer Enrichment: Seasonal programming for children featuring STEM, arts, outdoor activities, and other educational and enrichment experiences.
• Mental Health & Family Support: Free virtual therapy may be available to eligible Southeastern Michigan residents, and the In-Home Program provides court-referred individual and family therapy and case management.
• Emergency & Community Support: Provides food, clothing, educational sessions, assistance to people experiencing food insecurity, and outreach to individuals experiencing homelessness.

Services offered include: Grab bars, hand railings, lever-handled door knobs, temporary modular ramps, tub/shower transfer benches, raised or comfort toilet seats, seat risers, non-slip strips for bathroom or stairs, interior & exterior lighting, repair of cracked / broken / uneven pathways, lighting for pathways, repair of hazardous gutters & downspouts, broken window panes, storm door & window installation, floor tiles, carpet removal, replacement of broken medical cabinets, smoke detector & carbon monoxide detector installation, and doorbell installation.
