The Grandmont Rosedale Development Corporation (GRDC) is a nonprofit community development organization focused on preserving and improving five Northwest Detroit neighborhoods. The work centers on housing, economic development, and community engagement, with programs designed to strengthen homeownership, address vacant properties, support local businesses, and improve neighborhood quality of life.
SERVICES & PROGRAMS:
- Home Repair Program: Provides home repair assistance to eligible residents in the Grandmont Rosedale community. Residents can fill out an application and be added to a waitlist for possible home repair assistance. Contact the office at 313-387-4732 for information about the program, assistance completing the application, specific repairs that can be done, eligibility requirements, and funding availability. - Housing & Neighborhood Development: Works to preserve homeownership, address chronically vacant properties, and develop additional housing options for residents.
- Affordable Senior Housing at Minock Park Place: A development with 42 affordable senior housing units. The property leases income-based units starting at $447 for a one-bedroom. Call 855-598-5221 for leasing information.
- Affordable Senior Housing at Residence at West Outer Drive: Provides 35 tax-credit based housing units for older adults in Northwest Detroit. Contact Continental Management 888-468-4907 for leasing information.
- Grand River WorkPlace: Provides affordable coworking space, business address/mailbox services, retail pop-up space, and business support workshops for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
- Economic Development: Supports local businesses and entrepreneurship initiatives. Works to strengthen the Grand River commercial corridor and economic opportunities in the community.
- Community Engagement: Organizes and supports neighborhood initiatives, special programs, community events, beautification, and collective efforts to address neighborhood concerns.
- Northwest Detroit Farmers’ Market: Supports a neighborhood farmers’ market and opportunities for local vendors and businesses.
