Habitat for Humanity’s Critical Home Repair Program will provide urgent and major home repairs for homeowners who do not have the ability to make the improvements themselves, due to age, disability or other circumstances.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: To be eligible for any of Habitat’s programs, homeowners must own & occupy the home, property
taxes must be paid in full or homeowners must be on a repayment plan, and the owner must not be in danger of foreclosure. Required documents include owner’s most recent property tax bill, proof of homeowner’s insurance, and an income and asset verification package including the previous year’s tax return.
INCOME GUIDELINES:
Household income must be less than 80% AMI, adjusted for family size, as defined annually by HUD. Homeowners must be unable to participate in home repairs due to age, disability, or circumstance.
TYPES OF REPAIRS:
The Critical Home Repair Program does not address emergency repairs that need immediate assistance, such as broken pipes that caused flooding. Eligible repairs include fixing broken windows, sidewalk repair, landscaping, roof repair, floor repair, plumbing, electrical, & other health and safety home repairs.
