DESCRIPTION: In the Spirit of Giving is a faith-based charitable ministry that provides free donated furniture and household necessities to individuals and families in Monroe County. The organization helps residents establish or maintain safe, comfortable living environments during periods of financial hardship or major life transitions. All items are provided free of charge, subject to donated inventory and availability.

PROGRAMS/SERVICES:

• Free Furniture: Beds, mattresses, dressers, sofas, chairs, dining tables, and other essential household furnishings.
• Household Essentials: Dishes, cookware, utensils, bedding, blankets, towels, curtains, and other household necessities.
• Small Appliances: Microwaves, vacuum cleaners, and other small household appliances.
• Furniture Delivery: Volunteer-assisted delivery of larger items to recipients’ homes, when available.

HOW TO APPLY: Obtain a written referral or voucher from a Monroe County community service agency listed on the Get Help page. Once referred, call 734-241-0688 or email admin@inthespiritofgiving.com to schedule an appointment to select available items. Walk-in assistance is not offered.
