Michigan Works! connects Michigan residents with employment, career planning, job-search assistance, training, and other workforce programs. Services are provided through local Michigan Works! agencies and may include help with resumes, job applications, computers, hiring events, and publicly funded employment and training programs.

- Job Search & Career Services: Help with job searches, career planning, resumes, applications, job postings, and hiring events.
- Career Training: Qualified individuals may receive assistance with training for in-demand careers, including potentially funded training programs.
- Youth Services: Employment and training programs for eligible young people.
- Veteran Services: Employment and career assistance specifically for veterans.
- Disability Employment Services: Assistance for people with disabilities preparing for and obtaining employment.
- Grow with Google Training: Michigan Works! launched a statewide partnership in 2026 providing access to Google Career Certificates, AI courses, and digital-skills training. Availability may vary by local agency.
- Employer Services: Assistance with recruiting, hiring, job postings, employee training, and retaining qualified workers.
- Barrier Removal and Employment Success (BRES): Provides financial assistance and other supportive services to help eligible low-income individuals overcome barriers to getting or keeping a job. Assistance may include auto insurance or repairs, rent, mortgage or utility payments, child care, work clothing, tools and equipment, training expenses, licensing fees, and legal services. Intended only for people participating in workforce education, training, or employment-related programs. Available through participating Michigan Works! agencies and other designated providers.
