SERVICE AREA: Monroe County, Michigan.

CLIENTS SERVED: Children 17 & younger in Monroe County who do not have a safe, appropriate bed or crib of their own. Parents or guardians can apply on behalf of children.

DESCRIPTION: Now I Lay Me Down is a ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Monroe that provides beds, cribs, and bedding items to children 17 years old and younger in need. The process takes 4-6 weeks on average. Community volunteers deliver and assemble the beds in the family’s home. The receiving family should clean out the area where the beds are to be installed. The program is funded through community donations and the annual Bed Race to Aid Children fundraiser.

SERVICES/PROGRAMS
May provide the following items for children: Bunk Beds, Twin Beds, Pack-n-Plays, Cribs, Bedding (pillow, new or gently used sheets, blankets, or quilts), stuffed animal and a book.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Must list 2 Referral Sources (non-family) such as DHS Caseworker, clergy person, landlord, or other agency professional. If approved, client will be called with further instructions.
