CLIENTS SERVED: Low- and moderate-income adults, youth, first-time homebuyers, entrepreneurs and small-business owners, employees, and disaster survivors. Specific programs may have additional eligibility requirements.
DESCRIPTION: Operation HOPE is a national nonprofit focused on financial empowerment and economic opportunity. Its programs provide free financial education, one-on-one coaching, and connections to resources to help individuals improve their financial stability, manage debt, build credit, purchase a home, start or grow a business, and recover financially after disasters. Services are provided at no cost to clients.
Clients can register through Operation HOPE’s online portal or connect with a HOPE Inside local office. During registration, clients identify their financial needs and goals and may request to be matched with a Financial Wellbeing Coach. Services are provided at no cost, and coaching may be available virtually or through participating offices.
PROGRAMS/SERVICES:
- Credit & Money Management: One-on-one coaching and education on budgeting, credit improvement, debt reduction, saving, and financial goals.
- Homeownership: HUD-certified education and coaching for prospective homebuyers, including help navigating the mortgage and homebuying process.
- Small Business Development: Coaching, education, and resources to help entrepreneurs start, strengthen, and grow businesses.
- Financial Disaster Recovery: Financial counseling for disaster survivors, including recovery budgeting, creditor communication, credit issues, and foreclosure prevention. Operation HOPE does not provide direct disaster financial assistance.
- Youth Financial Education: Age-appropriate financial literacy and entrepreneurship programs for school-age youth and young adults; participation is free.
- Employee Financial Wellness: Financial education and coaching offered through participating employers.
- Client Grant Opportunities: Occasional small grants for existing HOPE clients experiencing a one-time, unforeseen financial need. Availability is limited and requires an application.
- Financial Workshops: Free workshops covering credit, money management, budgeting, saving, homeownership, and entrepreneurship.
