STATUS: OPEN
CLIENTS SERVED: Qualified KY residents and their families
DESCRIPTION:Â The Kentucky Prescription Assistance Program (KPAP) helps qualifying Kentuckians and/or their families locate free or reduced-cost prescription drugs through assistance programs offered by the drug manufacturers, discount drug programs and discount pharmacy programs.
SERVICES / PROGRAMS:Â KPAP helps qualifying individuals identify sources of free and low-cost medications offered by pharmaceutical companies. The process reduces paperwork and offers more direct access to programs. Staff members collaborate with medical personnel and community agencies such as churches, hospitals and social services to provide information about KPAP, identify resources and determine how the community can best help individuals access assistance programs.
Eligibility for the KPAP program is determined by various criteria that differ among participating pharmaceutical companies. This can include factors such as current health insurance coverage and household income. Clients whose income or resources make them ineligible for existing drug assistance programs will receive guidance on other options for low-cost prescriptions. If you need KPAP assistance, our staff are happy to look up your medications for you and provide you with information on available programs.
HOW TO APPLY:Â For assistance with prescriptions, please call the KPAP Hotline at 1-800-633-8100. We are open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM EST.
