CLIENTS SERVED: Kentucky residents who need a temporary portable accessibility ramp. The program is particularly useful for people who need a temporary ramp solution; applicants are responsible for pickup, return, setup, and installation.
RampUp! KY is a portable ramp loan program established by the Kentucky Assistive Technology Services (KATS) Network, Centers for Independent Living, and the University of Kentucky. Portable aluminum ramps are loaned at no cost for up to 6 months. Those who need a permanent ramp are referred to the Ramps and Home Modifications Resource Guide.
SERVICES & PROGRAMS:
- Portable Ramp Loan: Provides portable aluminum ramps (ranging from 2 to 12 feet) at no cost for short-term use up to 6 months. Inventory is very limited and varies by location. There is no guarantee that an available ramp will meet a particular home’s height or access requirements. The program does not build or install ramps. The borrower is responsible for arranging pickup and return, as well as setup and installation.
- Ramp Types: Depending on inventory, available ramps may include suitcase-style, tri-fold, and single-fold ramps in various fixed lengths.
