CLIENTS SERVED:  Central KY / Client must be a resident of the county for one year prior to purchasing a home through the program.

DESCRIPTION:  REACH fosters and advances affordable housing opportunities through educational and financial empowerment, resources, financial assistance options and Community Housing Development. Serving low- to moderate-income individuals and families since 1994 one household at a time.

SERVICES / PROGRAMS:

Housing Counseling & Education Program:  This comprehensive counseling and education program offers guidance and advice to first time homebuyers, existing homeowners, renters and everyone on budgeting, saving, protecting credit, preventing foreclosure and more.

REACH HOME Program:  Eligible clients living in Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Jessamine, Scott and Woodford counties who want to purchase a home in Fayette County can receive financial assistance through the REACH HOME Program. Clients must be a resident of the county for one year prior to purchasing a home through the program.

REACH CHDO Program:  REACH assists eligible clients in purchasing rehabilitated homes in Fayette County. Eligible clients may receive a forgivable second mortgage to be used for down payment and closing costs.

Non-Delinquency Post-Purchase Education and Counseling: Provides ongoing support to homeowners once they are in their homes.

Counseling for Employer Assisted Housing Program – Live Where You Work: Through this program, REACH provides budget, credit and homeownership counseling to employees of the University of Kentucky and Samaritan Hospital.

Counseling and Education for the Housing Voucher to Homeownership Program (LHA): Through this program, current recipients of Section 8 federal assistance can use their housing vouchers toward the purchase of a home.
