CLIENTS SERVED: RBI clients and community residents who need essential household furniture or appliances.

DESCRIPTION: RBI’s Furniture and Appliances Program provides donated household furniture and working appliances to people in need. RBI normally operates the program once or twice a month, picking up donated items and delivering them directly to clients’ homes. The program is temporarily on hold.

SERVICES / PROGRAMS:

• Furniture: Available items may include beds, dressers, kitchen tables and chairs, sofas and loveseats, end tables, coffee tables, lamps, and rugs.
• Major Appliances: RBI accepts and distributes refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, and dryers when they are in good working condition.
• Home Delivery: When the program is operating, RBI picks up donated items and delivers them directly to clients’ homes.
• Donations: Individuals interested in donating furniture or appliances should email office@redfordbrightmoorinitiative.org and provide photos of the items. RBI will respond regarding whether the items can be accepted and a possible pickup date. There is a suggested $50 donation to help cover the cost of renting a truck and hiring two delivery workers. The $50 donation is not required.
